Fox in the Snow Cafe in New Albany offers a casual, approachable spot for anyone starting their day or pausing mid-morning. This cafe quietly carves out its niche as a local breakfast and pastry destination, where the focus is on sizeable, shareable bakery items and a relaxed vibe, rather than on racing through a quick coffee and out the door.

Situated along W Main St, the space accommodates both indoor and pleasant outdoor seating, inviting visitors to linger, especially when the weather allows. The outdoor area is popular for those looking to soak in sunshine while enjoying a break from their routine. Though this isn’t a place to camp out for hours with your laptop—there’s no public WiFi—it works well for casual meetups and laid-back weekend mornings.

The menu leans heavily on breakfast staples elevated with a bakery twist. Locals often come for the generously portioned egg sandwiches paired with pastries like the morning bun, sticky bun, or a blueberry scone. The pastries frequently receive praise for flavor and variety, making Fox in the Snow somewhat of a go-to when a morning treat is on the agenda.

When it comes to coffee, opinions among regulars are mixed. The cafe offers a lineup from vanilla lattes and cappuccinos to iced varieties and chai lattes. While the coffee hits the basics, it doesn’t steal the spotlight as much as the baked goods do. For those prioritizing coffee quality, some nearby spots might be better bets. However, if your morning plan includes both a solid pastry and a decent cup of joe in a calm atmosphere, Fox in the Snow fits well.

The staff is consistently noted for being friendly and attentive in delivering orders directly to your table, making for a pleasant, unhurried visit. Overall, this cafe caters to people who want more than just caffeine—a space where a morning conversation over shared food feels comfortable and unpretentious.

We shared an egg sandwich and the Apple Crostada. Both were very good. I had a hot latte and hubby had an iced latte with honey. They were both just okay. This has been our experience there a few times now, pastries good coffee average at best. So my personal recommendation if if you're in New Albany and want a pastry, go here. If you're in New Albany and want a coffee go to Morning Ritual instead. Both have their own strength. Lastly, it is super busy and the line forms all around where you are. Dont care for this too much not to mention finding a spot to sit is hard and tables are on top of each other.

I came on a weekday during off hours - which I recommend for popular places like this. I ordered a chai latte, which was good. The employees were friendly. Note that there is no wifi at this location. I came to do work on my laptop to realize there’s no customer WiFi. They have a great outdoor seating area, though!

I love all the locations and the atmosphere for each. Perfect spot to share an egg sandwich and a pastry with someone, as the portions are huge, but so worth it.

What a fun place to eat. The choice of pastries seems endless along with gourmet coffees, teas, and smoothies. We had the egg sandwich and it was amazingly delicious. The tomatoe tart was another great choice. Casual atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. Counter order, staff delivers to table. Excellent service and friendly, knowledgeable staff. I will return and highly recommend.
